The Facilities：Reading services are offered according to "Regulations for the Use of Materials at the Toyo Bunko Branch of the National Diet Library."
Eligibility： Anyone who needs materials preserved in the Library's archives to conduct research on the history and/or culture of the regions of Asia. Reading Hours： 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily (closed 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. for lunch)
Requests for reading materials: 9.00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Closed： Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, the last day of each month (in case it falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or National Holiday, the day before the last day of the month), 19 November (Toyo Bunko holiday) and from 27 December until 4 January.
Library Fee： Free of charge Lending Policy： The Toyo Bunko is not a lending library. All materials are handled in the Reading Room. Application： After filling out an application form(available from the librarian in the Reading Room), readers will be issued a temporary library card good for the remainder of the day.
Frequent uses are urged to apply for a long-term library card. by presenting a letter of recommendation from a person holding an academic position in Asian studies or an Asian studies institution of higher learning. (Academic position holders need only ID and a completed application form.)
It is possible to have positive film and hardcopies made of books and other materials, and have the copies mailed.Application Form
